Juan Contreras, the Live Arts Photography founder, is a Vancouver-based photographer who has captured the unique, evocative, and timeless beauty of live dancers' performances since 2015.

Juan included photography as a new medium for his artistic vocabulary to produce thoughtful, provocative and ambitious high-quality images embracing human movements with aesthetic and symbolic values and artistic narrative of onsite live performance dance. Juan has specialized and focused his professional photography practice on documenting live performances for dancers, musicians and scenic artists in Vancouver, BC. ​As an artistic photographer, Juan also lives to pursue THE image that satisfies his passion for visually communicating emotions, stories, and photographic processes.
